Some DON'TS when trying to get a Mate's attention

Social media certainly makes meeting potential significant others rather easy. It also makes looking like a stalker easy as well. When trying to pursue someone leaving comments on everything they post, to try and get their attention is not the way to go. especially if they aren't acknowledging your comments/presence. If a person had an interest in you then they would respond to the direct communication your trying to make. Following them on every social site doesn't make them like you more, it's sort of creepy. So when you have an interest in someone please refrain from stalker-ish tendencies. Here are a couple of things you DON'T DO when trying to get "noticed"

  1. Show up in places you know their going to be
  2. try too hard (no one like an eager beaver)
  3. compliment them every 5 seconds (compliments are always nice but not in excess)
  4. Looking to available ( being at someones every beck and call wont help your cause, it will only get you taken advantage of)

This is just a short list of a few things you Don't do! In addition if you feel like you have to work on getting someones attention then just quit while your ahead. If someone is genuinely interested in you then getting their attention is no work at all because you'll already have it!

How To Lose A Girl in 10 days

So I was watching the movie, How to use a guy in 10 days and got to thinking. Now in the first ten days of meeting someone you can usually tell whether you want to possibly pursue something with them or not. Some people can detect this way sooner then ten days. So in this movie the main character tries to do everything that women do WRONG while dating a man for ten days. I started asking my friends what is it that a man can do to make a woman lose interest in a man and came up with a list of a few things.

  1. excessive calling and texting
  2. poor conversation
  3. eagerness for intimacy
  4. lack of proper etiquette
  5. talking about an ex
  6. boasting about yourself

Communication is very important in the getting to know someone stage in a relationship, but excessive calling and texting will make a woman think you're a creep, stalker and weirdo.

Great conversation is key! Sitting on the phone saying um and OK over and over again because you can't think of anything interesting to say will have a girl thinking OK NEXT!

Eagerness for intimacy- Men who constantly bring up sex in the first few dates is a major turn-off and inappropriate. It'll make a girl think that that's the only thing on your agenda.

Lack of proper etiquette- PUT THE PHONE AWAY! while on a date you should not have your phone out at all, this is extremely rude. Also when out on a nice dinner please tip the waiter and waitress accordingly. I once had a friend who went on a date and the guy tipped the waiter TWO DOLLARS. Of course she never saw him again nor did she return any of his calls after that.

Talking about an ex- Please do not talk about an ex-girlfriend especially if not asked. If you were asked please keep it brief. No one really likes to hear about exes and it'll make a girl feel like you're not over them.

Boasting about yourself-  No one likes a bragger! Yuck! Talking about yourself and the things you have is a major turn off.

Please leave a comment if you would like to add to the list of things guys shouldn't do.

Movie Review: Beautiful Creatures

So, Yesterday late afternoon I finally had the time to watch Beautiful Creatures and to my dismay it wasn't as wonderful as I thought it would be! This movie is based on the novel Beautiful, which I'm sure is 100 times better than the movie actually was.

This movie was very "twilight-ish" to me. There a character "Lina" who's a "caster" (witch) and she falls in love with a mortal "Ethan". Of course falling in love with a mere human is forbidden so these love sick teens face several obstacles. Lina is almost turning 16, and when a female caster turns 16 she is "claimed" to the "light" or to the "dark". I didn't really understand why a woman didn't have a say in whether she was going to be a "good" Castor" or an "evil" one. Didn't make much sense to me (sigh). I did like some of the messages in the movie about love and sacrifice. In the movie you can see that sometimes sacrifice for the greater good is often needed. Sometimes you have to let go of your own selfish needs and do things because its the right thing to do.

Beautiful Creatures the movie felt like a poor attempt to try to get a hold of all the people who loved twilight. It's another love story similar to a Romeo and Juliet, but unfortunately this one was not entertaining and really left the viewer (well me anyway) like HUH? This movie gets one star from me. If you're thinking about watching, this wait till it comes out on TV. This movie was so not worth the 14 dollars I spent! This movie wasn't the best love story I've ever seen. If I were you I'd just wait till it came out on TV.

Marrying Another Religion?

Love hath no boundaries!
Unless hes a Jew and you're a Christian, or she's a Muslim and you're a Buddhist... Well you get my drift?

Religion is usually a hot topic when brought up in any conversation, so imagine in the dating game. Usually one goes for someone who mirrors their religious beliefs. But what happens when you unexpectedly fall for someone who has a completely different belief system than you?! All though challenging, it is 100 percent possible. Both parties must be willing to come to a mutual understanding and first know that they will face many obstacles. Obstacles like who's doing the converting, and most importantly a couples' family members. Often times parents envision a certain mate for their child especially in religious and traditional communities and if they stray away from that path their family pictured for them it may cause a rift in the relationship. Having in-laws that aren't to fond of you can cause problems in most relationships. Before deciding to take the plunge and get serious with a significant other who has a different religious background both parties must have the "sit down". Sit down and have a serious conversation about where the relationship is going, and if its worth continuing. If you decide that you two are soul mates and can't eat, can't sleep without the other then go for it. Just make sure you guys are in it together because it may not be easy!
But have no fear that four letter word is here, (Love!) I'm a strong believer in the saying "Love conquers all." And once you find your mate nothing else matters. Believe in each other, be there for each other and everything will be ok!

Editing Wikipedia

Wikipedia is one of those sites that allows people (like you and me) to make edits to the contents on it's page. We can write anything we want really. Some times depending on how true to the subject your edit is, your edit can stay on the page forever or get deleted right away. If what you write is offensive or untrue then in a couple days or in a matter of hours it's deleted.
I wanted to try this out so I decided to edit a portion of wikipedias "Field of study" section of "interpersonal relationship."

                                                             Interpersonal Relationship
In the "field of study" portion of the wiki definition about interpersonal relationships, it reads as follows.
==Field of study==

The study of interpersonal relationships involves several branches of the social sciences, including such disciplines as sociologypsychology, anthropology, and social work. The scientific study of relationships evolved during the 1990s and came to be referred to as 'relationship science',[2] which distinguishes itself from anecdotal evidence or pseudo-experts by basing conclusions on data and objective analysis. Interpersonal ties are also a subject in mathematical sociology.

In bold you can find where I made my own edit to the field of study portion of the definition.

Dear wikipedia, define Marriage.

I got to thinking about marriage and decided to have a look see on its definition on the popular site Wikipedia. Now Wikipedia is scrutinized often for having tons inaccurate information. Wikipedia allows Internet users to edit and add what ever they like, which makes it in the eyes of many less credible site. below is the information I found about marriage on wikipeida. I felt the information was accurate 100 percent. Marriage is a union between two persons. once married you are bined together and the only way out of a marriage is through divorce.

Marriage (also called matrimony or wedlock) is a social union or legal contract between people called spouses that establishes rights and obligations between the spouses, between the spouses and their children, and between the spouses and their in-laws.[1] The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but it is principally an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged. When defined broadly, marriage is considered a cultural universal. In many cultures, marriage is formalized via a wedding ceremony. In terms of legal recognition, most sovereign states and other jurisdictions limit marriage to opposite sex couples or two persons of opposite gender in the gender binary, and some of these allowpolygynous marriage. Since 2000, several countries and some other jurisdictions have legalized same-sex marriage. In some cultures, marriage is recommended or compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity.

What is a relationship?!

When you think about a relationship , you think about a bond formed between two people, you think about two people making a commitment to be monogamous. A commitment to one another, a commitment to strive, together. Often people tend to get confused as to what the ultimate goal of this bond is supposed to be. People tend to get caught up in the "game". When a relationship is formed the "game" initiates, slowly growing fond of one another but uncertain of where it may lead. The ultimate goal of a relationship is what ? A marriage ? A family? A life partner? YES! Exactly! So in life when all the games stop in this game we play that is this "dating relationship" we "win" our mate? Yes? No? Hopefully.
