This movie was very "twilight-ish" to me. There a character "Lina" who's a "caster" (witch) and she falls in love with a mortal "Ethan". Of course falling in love with a mere human is forbidden so these love sick teens face several obstacles. Lina is almost turning 16, and when a female caster turns 16 she is "claimed" to the "light" or to the "dark". I didn't really understand why a woman didn't have a say in whether she was going to be a "good" Castor" or an "evil" one. Didn't make much sense to me (sigh). I did like some of the messages in the movie about love and sacrifice. In the movie you can see that sometimes sacrifice for the greater good is often needed. Sometimes you have to let go of your own selfish needs and do things because its the right thing to do.
Beautiful Creatures the movie felt like a poor attempt to try to get a hold of all the people who loved twilight. It's another love story similar to a Romeo and Juliet, but unfortunately this one was not entertaining and really left the viewer (well me anyway) like HUH? This movie gets one star from me. If you're thinking about watching, this wait till it comes out on TV. This movie was so not worth the 14 dollars I spent! This movie wasn't the best love story I've ever seen. If I were you I'd just wait till it came out on TV.
